Reapers Hockey Association finds new home at Mount Prospect Ice Arena
The Mount Prospect Ice Arena (MPIA) is pleased to announce that it has entered into a long-term agreement with the Reapers Hockey Association.
The Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI) announced on September 23, 2020 that the Reapers Tier 1 organization will be joining the likes of the Chicago Fury, Chicago Mission, Chicago Young Americans, and Team Illinois in the 2021-2022 season.
The Reapers will call MPIA home for all of its on ice needs and have (8) team locker rooms, a players lounge, video/meeting room, coaches office and locker room, equipment/storage room, and weekly use of the MPI Sports Development Center and Nicholas Field.
Beginning early 2021, MPIA will break ground on an expansion to accommodate the dedicated spaces for the Reapers association, as well as feature a 3rd sheet of ice to meet the growing needs of other organizations.
The agreement with the Reapers aligns MPIA with a top tier organization that will bring an enhanced experience to the Illinois youth hockey community.
“Since opening in 2016, we’ve set a high standard [from a facility perspective] for those in the industry, and executing an agreement with an organization like the Reapers only reinforces our commitment to continue to partner with quality run hockey clubs,” said Ryan Zanon, Operations Manager at the Mount Prospect Ice Arena.
Steven Dry, President of the Reapers Hockey Association shares Zanon’s enthusiasm stating, “Nick Papanicholas and his team at MPIA share in our mission to provide the opportunity for more Illinois youth hockey players to achieve their highest level. Their amenities are first class, and their convenience to the North Shore area [less than 10 miles on average] further allows us to meet our vision. We could not be more thrilled with our new partnership!”
