Public Skate
Adults and children alike are invited to enjoy ice skating at the Nicholas Sportsplex during the Ice Arena’s public skate hours.
Rental skates and beginner skate aids are available upon request.
Ice Time
Mount Prospect Ice Arena’s three standard size ice rinks (200x85 feet) are regularly rented by individuals and hockey/figure skating clubs for hosting practices, games, tournaments, clinics, camps, parties, and more. All three ice sheets are available for hourly rentals from 6 a.m.-midnight daily.
Stick N’ Puck
Stick N’ Puck provides a perfect opportunity for hockey players of all ages to focus on skill development during unstructured ice time. Participation is limited to 30 skaters and 4 goalies per session and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adult Hockey
The Mount Prospect Adult Hockey League (MPAHL) offers various levels of play including an over 40 division. The league participates in 18 regular games and one guaranteed playoff game. League schedules, standings, and contacts are available on the MPAHL website.
Figure Skating
The Mount Prospect Figure Skating Academy provides learn-to-skate classes from beginner through advanced. Classes are geared toward tots, beginners, adults, advanced, and power/edge skaters. In addition to teaching the Skate USA curriculum, the academy offers specialized clinics for intermediate and advanced skaters who are interested in building upon their skating repertoire.

Birthday Parties
Parents can enjoy this unique, active birthday celebration together with their children without worrying about the food preparation, clean-up, or keeping the party guests entertained!
Outdoor Events
The two specialized synthetic turf outdoor areas that make up Nicholas Field are rented to host a variety of activities and events. Although they are striped for baseball/softball (50x50 yards) and football/soccer (80x50 yards), these spaces have also been used for sports training, musical performances, dance fitness classes, and even egg hunts.
Performance Training
Health Performance Institute (HPI) is a division of Illinois Bone & Joint Institute and located on the Nicholas Sportsplex campus. Sports performance, adult fitness, and wellness programs are available.
